Feed & Read Ohio

Jacques Angelino, a former special needs educator and nurse, has worked to serve people by hand delivering food and books to those who cannot access it otherwise, for more than 20 years. He operates on simple principles: every person deserves dignity, food to eat and the right to literacy. Donations for Feed & Read Ohio are accepted at the table just to the right of the entrance at Community Grounds, and can also be given to your barista. Urgent needs include shelf stable foods like beans/rice/peanut butter, infant/adult diapers, pet food, and books for children of all ages. You may also support directly at https://donorbox.org/feed-read-ohio-donations if you'd prefer!

Black, Queer, & Intersectional Collective (BQIC)

BQIC is a grassroots community organization in Central Ohio that works toward the liberation of Black LGBTQIA+ people from all walks of life through direct action, community organizing, education on issues, and creating spaces to uplift voices. Monthly Free Resource Fridays are from 4pm-6pm at Community Grounds the last Friday of every month. Donations for BQIC can be given to the barista, or you can donate directly by visiting https://bqic.net/donate/. We're currently collecting monetary donations, and socks! For details on additional current needs, please visit BQIC.

Native American Indian Center of Central Ohio (NAICCO)

The Native American Indian Center of Central Ohio, located right here on the South Side, is devoted to preserving and restoring balance in the lives of American Indian and Alaska Native youth and families living in and around Ohio through culture, wellness, community, and education. We work to hold our community more accountable to the needs of Indigenous Peoples by cultivating our friendship and commitment to NAICCO. We invite you to do your part as well. Support their ongoing efforts to purchase land by supporting the Bigger & Better NAICCO Campaign. You can do so directly (naicco.com/donate) or at Community Grounds: Coffee & Meeting House, by supporting the NAICCO Cuisine food truck (naicco.com/naicco-cuisine) or by visiting the NAICCO offerings at Catherine Street Mercantile. All proceeds from the sale of NAICCO offerings at CSM go directly to the Bigger & Better NAICCO Campaign.
